It's early '90s when Akissa Mendez, Alia Davis and Lalisha McLean become more than friends at LaGuardia High School in New York. The all-female urban vocal group that they form starts to practice and team up with rapper Poke. They decide to call themselves Allure and become the first band being signed to a then new label called Crave Records owned by Mariah Carey. The year is 1997 as they release their self titled debut album featuring the single Head over heels. Latest musical outing is their Sunny days album from 2001. |
