Damian Dame was the first LaFace produced duo comprising of members Damian (Bruce Edward Broadus) and Dame (Debra Jean Hurd). The first, self-titled, album released during the beginning of the swing era, consisted two hits with Exclusivity being the biggest considering sales figures. For Debra this was not her first appearance on the musical scene as she already recorded a self-titled album way back in 1983. Their freshly gained succes did not last too long as a second album never made it due to a fatal automobile collision in which Debra was killed on June 27th 1994. Damian went on solo in 1995 with the album Damian 199sex. His luck also proved to be short lived as he died of colon cancer on June 27th 1996, exactly two years after Debra.
