Born Diana Broomfield in Miami, Dee Dee Wilde grew up in a musical family of eight, along with musical brothers Ron (Eugene Wilde ) and Alfred (Broomfield). She picked up the nickname Dee Dee as a child and 'borrowed' the surname Wilde from her older brother Ron. Among her appearances with family members she performed in groups called Tight Connection, La Voyage, Life and Simplicious. Dee Dee got her first solo contract in 1988 and released the No way out album in Japan and Europe which was mainly due to the succes of the Lap of Luxury single succes in the UK. The second album was originally entitled Get-a-way but internal problems dissolved the label before promotion was completed. She then independently released the album under a new title followed by the I am a woman album from 1994. In 2001 she changed the spelling of her name to DeDee and recorded her fourth album entitled PG-13 for theWilde City family label.
