Dezi Phillips comes from a musical family. His uncle was 50's legend Jim Reed and his brother Will Phillips records his own (rap) albums. Dezi's number of muscial outings as a solo performer are somewhat limited for a musician his size. So far he released two twelve inch singles, Why you wanna and Didn't do it, tracks which both feature on his Bernard Terry and Clarence Avant produced album Kickin' it from 1989. Since this release Dezi Phillips has maintained a low profile. His brother also opened for his 12 show nationwide Kickin' it tour.
