Jasmine was born March 10,1964 in Boston Massachusetts, but moved to Atlanta, GA. at a young age. It was here, she said, that she adapted her teacher's accent to perfect Whitley Gilbert's southern accent. After high school, she won a scholarship with the Alvin Ailey Dance Center and appeared in various stage shows. Here is where she met and befriended Debbie Allen. In 1990 Jasmine released a self-titled album with "A Different World" co star,Cee Summer,helping with background vocals on a few songs She currently runs a dance program in South Central LA with her sister Monica
