Born Perri McKissack on november 6, 1966, Pebbles started out her career as a background singer with ConFunkShun during the early 1980's. She struck her own record deal with MCA at the end of the same era which resulted in her much acclaimed self-titled debut album which was produced by Babyface and La Reid, whom she would later marry and again divorce. The album went platinum stateside. The follow up album, entitled Always was released in 1990 and contained a guest appearance by her aunt Cherrelle. In 1991 she became the manager of TLC but they were taken away from her a few years later which was a direct result of her divorce. She retuned back to her solo-career in 1995 with her third release Straight from the heart, but the album failed to match earlier commercial success. By 1996 word is, Pebbles had become a born-again Christian and is now an evangelist. The year 2000 saw the release of a 14 track career overview on the Hip-O label.
