Po' Broke & Lonely is a three piece band which consisted of Chris Taylor, Ruben Cruz and Michael Lynn. Their career did'nt actually really take of until they meet rappers Eazy E and Dr.Dre. They were signed to Eazy's Ruthless records label in 1990. Because of a row between their two mentors as a result of the break up of rapgroup N.W.A. the group decided to leave the label before getting caught in the situation. Eazy E wouldn't let them out of their contract which created a lot of tension between the label and the group. The case finally went to court in 1994 but before anything had to be settled Eazy E died of aids and the group was almost automatically dropped by the label. Signing to Arista in 1995 should have reboosted their career but proved to be a miss. The absence from the scene, which had lasted for over four years, made them a forgotten group by the hip-hop fans. The band dissolved one year later.
